| This Adobe Scene, below, was a club project. Each member took a cigar box and created an original scene. I chose the Southwestern adobe with Native American accessories. Everything except the burro, man and woman is handmade. On the man and woman, I changed their hair and made their clothing, so they would look like Southwest Indians. The burro is wearing an authentic Cherokee design saddle bag harness and baskets, which I made. The furniture is made of twigs. All the pottery is hand painted by me. I painted an authentic Cherokee design on the steer skull. The design is 'Bear Tracks'. Above the fire pit in the kiva is a Kachina doll, 3/4" tall, that I made. The ladder leaning against the adobe wall is made of peeled twigs and held together with leather strips tied in the Cherokee style. This project is one of my favorites because it was so much fun making everything. Hope you enjoy viewing the pictures of my project, below. |

And now A Little Bit About Me!
| I am a grandmother living in Kokomo, Indiana. I
retired from U.S. Civil Service as a programmer/systems analyst. I've
been into miniatures almost 20 years. I started doing 1" scale,
but about eleven years ago I built a salt box style house in quarter inch,
since then I have been working in both scales. I belong to several
on-line mini groups and enjoy swapping with the groups. My screen
name is Rosenenee.
Like a lot of miniaturists, I'm a member of the "Over 40 Club". 40 unfinished projects, some of which are The Pierce a 1" scale house, and the San Franciscan, 1" log house, 2 story Carousel house, a 1" greenhouse/conservatory, a Coventry Cottage. Then many 1/4" projects like the Top Hat Club & Casino, a kit by Karen Marsh, House Under the Garden which had plans in Dollhouse Miniatures magazine, a camping scene with a wall tent, a dome tent and a pop-up camping trailer. I like all aspects of building miniatures. I really think that being involved with miniatures has helped "save my sanity" since my husbands death in 1987. I helped start a new mini club in Florida, then served as president for three terms. I have attended numerous shows, State Days, and Houseparties. Since moving back to Indiana I served three years as president of our mini club, and am now secretary/treasurer. Minis have really made my life pleasurable these past many years. |
